A unique business concept was initiated soon after the new millennium. It was begun by a group of shrimp fishermen, accountants, community outreach activists and information systems individuals from several coastal Georgia counties. Shrimp fishermen, surviving years of low prices, proven dumping violations by foreign governments and unscrupulous business entities, and endless domestic regulation, decided that their very livelihoods were in jeopardy. A business plan and an initial investment of needed funds led to the formation of the Georgia Shrimp Company, LLC.
The mission of the company remains the same - a fair price to the boats, a guaranteed high quality wild caught domestic product, service excellence, and a return of shareholder equity, when possible. Our members/shareholders have combined experience of several hundred years in the catching, processing and sale of the finest product available on the East Coast. Our shrimp is second to none in the world. Our size and weights are accurate and our prices extremely competitive.
